DHAKA: Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) locked into sporadic clashes in front of party’s Nayapaltan central office in the city on Monday.
Three people injured during the clash, however, police detained two others from the spot.
Two infighting groups of BNP former ward commissioner Altaf Hossain and Azam locked into a quarrel during a meeting to form Lalbagh Thana committee.
At one stage, the supporters of the two groups chased and counter chased each other, leaving three of them injured.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot and chased supporters of both groups to bring the situation under control.
However, Azam group took position in the party office and Altaf group in Bhasani Auditorium.
