DHAKA: Ruling Awami League publicity and publication secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud Monday termed BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman ‘spoiled son of distracted woman’ for defaming Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The AL leader made the remarks while addressing a discussion on ‘current political perspective’ held at Khwaja Nazimuddin Auditorium in city’s Segunbagicha area.

He also alleged Tarique, staying at aboard, distorted the history of Bangladesh and Bangabandhu. He has to surrender before the court if he wants to do politics in Bangladesh, he further added.

Hasan Mahmud termed Tarique ‘fugitive accused’ and ‘spoiled son of distracted mother’.

The BNP gave Sundarbans lease to the sea robbers during their tenure. Now, they are playing with the people forming a probe body on oil-tanker capsize incident. 

Dhaka city AL organizing secretary Shahe Alam Murad, central sub-committee assistant secretary Balaram Poddar, among others were present in the program chaired by actor Dr Enamul Haque.
