MOULVIBAZAR: Police detained 23 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its key ally Jamaat-e-Islami in special drives in Moulvibazar.

The drives were conducted in different areas of the district Saturday early morning.

The detainees include Uzzal Mia (25), Nazmul Haque (22), Babul Mia (29), Mohsin Ahmed (33) and Selim Mia (35).

Moulvibazar Model Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdus Saleq said that the detainees were sent to jail after they were produced before the court.
