DHAKA: The leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of BNP, torched two passenger buses in city’s Kataban and Dhanmondi area on Saturday night.

Sources said that some JCD men set afire in the buses in the areas around 9:30pm at the sixth day of the 20-party alliance’s nationwide road-rail-waterway indefinite blockade.

However, no one was injured in these incidents. 

On January 5, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia called an indefinite countrywide blockade protesting the incumbent government’s ban on rallies of BNP-led 20-party and confinement of Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan political office.
