DHAKA: Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of BNP, called daylong hartal for Monday Dhaka and 13 other adjoining districts in protest against confinement of their Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

The other districts are Narayanganj, Gazipur, Tangail, Narsinghdi, Munshiganj, Manikganj, Comilla, Brahmanbaria, Kishoreganj, Mymensingh, Sherpur, Jamalpur and Netrokona districts.

The disclosure came from a press release signed by JCD office secretary M Abdus Sattar Patwary on Sunday afternoon.

The shutdown will be effective amid countrywide nonstop blockade programme enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.

Chhatra Dal central President Rajib Ahsan and General Secretary Akramul Hasan called upon all local JDC units.
