DHAKA: Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya demanded the arrest and exemplary punishment of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia.

The Awami League leader was addressing rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in city on Monday afternoon marking the Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The minister for disaster management and relief commented that BNP had made a falsehood about the statement of US Congressmen on Bangladesh.

Khaleda’s conversations with India ruling BJP chief Amit Shah was also a hoax, the minister added.

Maya further said that BNP chief should be arrested for tarnishing the image of the country to the world.

The AL leader, at that time, also blamed Khaleda as a fraud.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined that rally chaired by party presidium member Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury.
