DHAKA: Claiming that the law enforcers ‘murdered and kidnapped’ many leaders of BNP-led 20-party alliance in the last one month, BNP sent a list in this regard to international human rights organizations and foreign embassies.
The party also requested international human rights organizations to investigate about the matter.
A high level delegation of European Union (EU) will visit Dhaka to observe the human rights situation in Bangladesh. BNP sent the list ahead of this visit, said a competent source from the party.
BNP chairperson’s special assistant Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas confirmed the matter to banglanews on Sunday.
He said at least 78 people of the alliance were killed from January 5 across the country.
Shimul Biswas said at least 18,000 people, including alliance leaders and activists, were held and over seven lakh people sued in several cases.
