GAZIPUR: A Gazipur court on Thursday placed Professor MA Mannan, mayor of Gazipur City Corporation (GCC), on a two-day remand in a case filed with Joydevpur Thana.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Manwara Begum passed the remand order after police produced him before the court with a 10-day remand plea.

Gazipur court police inspector Robiul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Out of three cases filed against Mannan, he was on bail release in other two cases.

On the other hand, on the evening of February 11, Detective Branch of police detained GCC Mayor Abdul Mannan, also advisor to BNP chairperson, from his Baridhara residence in the city in the third case.
