DHAKA: An alleged arsonist was shot by police personnel while he was trying to torch a bus in city’s Jatrabari area on Thursday night.

The miscreant is identified as Ataur Rahman.

Police sources said that Ataur Rahman was shot while he was trying to set fire to a passenger bus in the area around 8:30pm.

The alleged arsonist received bullet injury and was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Jatrabari Thana Sub-Inspector Mohammad Shafiqul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
