GAZIPUR: Police held two activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student affiliate of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, on Friday afternoon while throwing petrol bombs at Shibbari area.

The detainees were Rumon Miah and Nasir Uddin.

Sources told banglanews that police held the duo around 3:00pm. They were trying to hurl petrol bombs, claimed police.

The law enforcers, however, recovered two petrol bombs from the detainees, sources added.

Joydebpur Thana duty officer Fouzia Sultana, confirming the matter, said that the Shibir-men are undergoing treatment at Gazipur Sadar Hospital following sustaining injuries while detention.
