DHAKA: BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed on Wednesday claimed that the government has started a publicity war tagging people’s democratic movement as “terrorist and extremist activities”.

The spokesperson for the party also alleged that AL’s hypocrisy about attracting international communities’ sympathy cashing on the sufferings of petrol-bomb victims has been revealed.

He made the claims in a statement sent to media.

The BNP leader also said they always presented the data to the nation. Ruling AL leaders and activists were involved in the arson attacks that led to loss of lives and properties, he added.

The statement further said the prevailing political crisis came to being as AL was trying to ensure their reigning forever.

He also criticized the killing of Jamaat leaders and activists across the country in the name of “crossfire”, adding that all the extrajudicial killers will be brought under trial.

He also called upon Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to step down for a general election under non-party neutral government.
