Aman-Tuku, 21 others face arrest warrant

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant against 23 BNP leaders and activists, including joint secretary general Amanullah Aman and one of its top leaders Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, for vandalism and creating anarchy.

Sources said that additional chief judicial magistrate Nazmul Haque Shyamol passed the order after denying the plea for the extension of time.

The court also set March 12 for hearing of the two cases, sources added.

However, the cases were filed with Savar Thana for vandalism and creating anarchy on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Amin Bazar area on December 9, 2012, during a blockade called by BNP and its alliance.
