DHAKA: Hartal and blockade supporters torched seven vehicles including one of Desh TV in different places of the city on Saturday evening.

However, no one was reportedly injured in these incidents.

Witnesses and police said that two vehicles, including one of Desh TV, were torched by hartal and blockade supporters in city’s Mouchak area at 6:45pm.

Fire Service duty officer Bhajan Kumar Sarker told banglanews that on information, fire fighters rushed to the spot and doused the blaze.

Besides, the blockaders vandalized several vehicles and blasted 4-5 cocktails in Mouchak.

Confirming the matter Ramna Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Shahidul Haque said that additional law enforcers were deployed in the area to avert any untoward situation.

Moreover, blockaders set fire to two covered vans and a passenger bus in Jatrabari area in the evening.

A private car and another passenger bus were also torched in Khilgaon and Banani areas respectively at that time.
