DHAKA: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will appear before court in grafts cases on condition of assurance to return safely to her Gulshan office after bail and adequate security.
Her lawyer Khandekar Mahbub Hossain came up with the remark at Supreme Court Bar Association Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, the BNP chief filed a petition seeking the withdrawal of the arrest warrant issued against her in Zia Orphanage and Zia Trust graft cases.
Later Special Judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar of Bakshibazar makeshift court fixed Wednesday for hearing of the petition.
On February 25, the court issued the arrest warrant against three persons including, the BNP chief and vice-chairman Tarique Rahman, also son of Khaleda Zia, as they were absent in the hearing of the two cases for a long period.
