DHAKA: At least 10 foreign diplomats including US ambassador Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat visited BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia at her political office in city’s Gulshan area Tuesday evening.

Several sources confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Amid the hartal and blockade announced by BNP-led 20-party alliance, a microbus entered the BNP chairperson’s political office around 6:30pm, sources added.

However, the persons in the microbus could not be identified immediately as it was covered with black glasses and there was no flag in the vehicle.

But, sources said the diplomats of European Union, UK, USA, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Sweden, Spain and Denmark were in the vehicle.

BNP party sources hinted that the diplomats met Khaleda Zia to discuss the current political situation.

BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan and party’s vice-chairman Selima Rahman were with the BNP chairperson, sources said.
