DHAKA: State Minister for Science and Information Communication Technology Yafes Osman defined the war-crime trial as the second liberation war and urged Bangladesh Chhatra League to act for halting the ongoing conspiracy against it as well as the Prime Minister.   

"We have to save Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from this conspiracy," he said.   

The state minister also said the common people would have to be mobilized in finishing the trial of those who committed crimes during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.

He made the plea at a painting competition and discussion marking the 35th anniversary of martyrdom of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Fine Arts Faculty of the University of Dhaka.

National Mourning Day Observance Council 2010 of the faculty organized the programme.

Without naming the name of BNP, he said the party that grew out of “conspiracy cannot do anything without conspiracy”.

Vice-chancellor of the university Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique, Pro-VC Prof Harun-or-Rashid, Artist Motlub Ali and BCL President Mahmud Hasan Ripon, among others, spoke at the programme.
