MYMENSINGH: Unidentified assailants shot a local leader of BNP to death at his residence in Datta Bazar area under Gaffargaon Upazila of the district early Friday.

The victim was identified as Abdul Mannan, president of Datta Bazar union Ward No 2 BNP unit.

Badrul Alam, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Pagla Thana, confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Deceased’s family sources said some miscreants shot Mannan at his village home around 2:30am that left him dead on the spot.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body on Friday morning.
