DHAKA: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia blamed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the grave crisis in the country.
The BNP chief made the remark in a press conference at BNP political office in city’s Gulshan area on Friday afternoon.
Khaleda Zia said, “Our country is in deep crisis and Awami League, particularly Sheikh Hasina, is responsible for the prevailing situation.
At the beginning of reading out a written statement, the BNP chairperson paid tribute to the martyred freedom fighters.
She said Awami League government has scrapped the caretaker government system with the passage of the 15th amendment of the constitution. There is no option to hold a free and fair election, the BNP chief alleged.
They also formed an illegal government through an election of formalities on January 5. They promised to hold a new election dissolving the parliament but they broke the promise.
