Talks after peace: Ashraf

DHAKA: Ruling Awami League’s general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam commented that dialogue between the political parties will not be held if the violent situation continues in the country.

No state on the planet allows talks with terrors, he added.

‘They (BNP-led alliance) have declared war against us, we will do so,’ the AL leader warned.

According to him, dialogue can be held if the prevailing violence is stopped and a peaceful situation is created.

Syed Ashraf made the comments at a press conference at the Awami League president’s political office in city’s Dhanmondi area on Saturday morning.

The press conference was arranged to express the ruling party’s reaction to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s press conference, held on Friday evening.
