DHAKA: Law enforcers detained at least 65 persons in special drives conducted in Jessore and Dinajpur on early Tuesday.

Jessore police control room sources said that the detainees are accused of several cases and they will be sent to court soon.

Besides, twenty people were held in Dinajpur in the drives conducted from Monday midnight to Tuesday morning.

Constable Hafizur Rahman of Dinajpur police control room said that police nabbed 20 persons including a BNP activist. They will be sent to court soon, he added.

Moreover, additional law enforcers are deployed in strategic points in the district to avoid any subversive attacks during the nationwide ongoing hartal and blockade.

The anti-violence drives will continue, he added.
