LALMONIRHAT: Police in a secret drive detained 12 men of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from a training den in Rahamatpur Shifar Kama area of Patgram upazila on Tuesday.

Officer-in-charge (OC) Rezal Karim of Patgram Thana confirmed the matter.

He said, acting on a tip-off, they conducted a drive at a house of one Aynal and detained 13 Jamaat-Shibir men from the area around 12:00pm.

The law enforcers also seized huge Jihadi books and training elements from the house.

In primary interrogation, the detainees confessed about their involvement with Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir.
