106 held in three districts

DHAKA: Law enforcers detained at least 106 persons in special drives conducted in Jessore, Dinajpur and Satkhira districts on Tuesday.

Jessore police control room sources said that the detainees are accused of several.

Moreover, 41 persons including three Jamaat-Shibir activists were held in Satkhira in drives conducted from Monday midnight to Tuesday noon.

Satkhira district police special branch officer-in-charge (OC) Sheikh Emdad Hossin confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Besides, twenty people were held in Dinajpur in the drives conducted from Monday midnight to Tuesday morning.

Constable Hafizur Rahman of Dinajpur police control room said that police nabbed 20 persons including a BNP activist.

However, additional law enforcers are deployed in strategic points in the district to avoid any subversive attacks during the nationwide ongoing hartal and blockade.

The anti-violence drives will continue, he added.
