KHULNA: Law enforcers detained at least 39 people in special overnight drives conducted in Khulna, Chittagong and Moulvibazar districts on Thursday.
In Khulna, 30 people including three Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Shibir activists were arrested from several areas of the.
Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Special Branch ADC Moniruzzaman Mithu confirmed the matter to banglanews.
The arrestees were accused in several cases, the ADC added.
In Chittagong, police detained a BNP, four Jamaat-e-Islami and two Shibir men from different thanas of the district.
District additional Superintendent of Police (SP, Special Brach) Muhammad Naimul Hasan told banglanews that they were detained allegedly for creating sabotage in the areas.
In Moulvibazar, two Chhatra Dal activists were attested for police assault case from Borolakha Bazar area of Borolekha upazila.
Confirming the matter, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Khorshed Alam told banglanews that they were also accused in torching and sabotage cases with the Thana.
