DHAKA: Russian ambassador in Dhaka Alexander A Nikolaev on Thursday greeted BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on the occasion of the Independence Day to be marked on March 26.

The envoy also sent another greetings card to BNP vice chairman Shamser Mobin Chowdhury. 

Abul Hossain, driver of the Russian envoy, handed over the two cards to official of Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan political office around 10:30am.

When asked, BNP media wing told reporters that in the cards, the envoy termed 26th March, the Independence Day of Bangladesh, as the day of glory.
