DHAKA: Alleged hartal-blockade supporters set fire to a passenger bus in front of Bangladesh Television (BTV) Bhaban in Rampura in the city on Saturday afternoon.

The incident took place immediately after BNP-led 20-party alliance announced a fresh spell of 72-hour countrywide hartal.

Witnesses said a group of miscreants slowed the bus and set fire to it around 3:30pm in the area and left the spot quickly.

No one was reportedly injured in the incident that created panic and made a halt of vehicular movement for a while in the area.
