SATKHIRA: Law enforcers arrested at least 104 persons including six activists of BNP and its key ally Jamaat-e-Islami in Satkhira and Jessore districts.
Sixty-seven persons including six activists of BNP-Jamaat were held in accusation of creating violence in Satkhira.
The arrestees were nabbed in drives conducted from Saturday midnight to Sunday noon in different areas of the district.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, Satkhira district police special branch officer-in-charge (OC) Sheikh Emdad Hossain the arrestees are accused in several cases including creating violence.
The arrestees include four Jamaat and 2 BNP activists, he added.
Moreover, police detained 37 people in overnight drives conducted across Jessore district.
District police control room sources said that all the detainees are accused in several cases and they will be produced before the court.
