CHITTAGONG: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has given support to the incumbent Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) mayor M Manjur Alam for the polls, to be held on April 28.

The announcement officially came at a press conference, organized by ‘Chattagram Unnayan Andolan’, a BNP-back organization of teachers, professionals and intellectuals, at GEC Convention Centre of the port city Wednesday evening.

Convener of the organization Dr Abul Kalam Azad said the incumbent port city mayor M Manjur Alam will contend the upcoming CCC polls with the support of their organization as in the previous polls in 2010.

He hoped that people will support Manjur for the sake of more development in the port city.

The organization’s member secretary SUM Nurul Islam, among others, was present at the press conference.
