DHAKA: A delegation of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) proposed to extent time for nomination submission date of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Chittagong City Corporation (CCC).

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s adviser, also former Dhaka University vice-chancellor Dr Emajuddin Ahmed said this to media after the meeting with election commissioner Kazi Rakib Uddin Ahmed at the latter’s office Wednesday afternoon.

Dr Emajuddin said, “We proposed to extend nomination submission date to be closed on March 29 as the country will enjoy 3-day holiday from Thursday.”

The educationist hoped that the election commissioner will consider the BNP delegation’s proposal.

He also urged to give opportunity to the arrested BNP leaders to participate in the polls by granting their bails.
