DHAKA: Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan Friday categorically said the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will have to face trial for killing people in the name of hartal-blockade.

He came up with the remark in a press conference arranged by Sramik-Peshajibi-Muktijoddha Samonoyak Parisad at Dhaka Reporters Unity protesting violent programs.
 
The minster said, “The BNP chief is burning people of the country to death in the name of enforcing movement. This cannot be spared; she would be brought to justice.”

Declaring for bringing out strolling from Manik Mia Avenue on April 5 demanding arrest and punishment of Khaleda Zia, the minister said the strolling will begin at 3:00pm on the day and will end through taking oath at Shikha Chiranton of Suhrawardy Uddyan.

Nest program will be declared there and the protest will continue until the violent activities are stopped, he added.

In the press meet, speakers informed the audiences that at least 138 people, including 37 drivers-helpers by petrol bomb attacks, have been killed in last three months due to hartal-blockade across the country.

Women leader Shirin Akter and Bangladesh Muktijudha Sangsad central command council chairman major general (retd) Golam Helal Morshed Khan, among others, were present at the program.
