DHAKA: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is likely to join mass rallies to be held in Dhaka and Chittagong.

Sources, with knowledge of the matter, from Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan political office told banglanews on Saturday.

According to them, BNP chairperson will attend both the rallies as chief guest.

Khaleda Zia may seek people’s support for the BNP-back contenders in the upcoming city corporation elections in Dhaka and Chittagong if the government can ensure ‘level playing field’, the sources added.

In the rallies, she will also protest the killing and missing of her party’s leaders and activists as well as call for the withdrawal of the ‘false’ cases against the party people.

Besides, the BNP chief will also press for an immediate arrangement of free and fair national election to be held with the participation of all political parties.
