DHAKA: BNP will stage demonstrations across the country on Sunday demanding the immediate release of its alliance leaders and activists including the party’s joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed.

A press release, signed by BNP’s another joint secretary general Barkatullah Bulu, told the media on Saturday.

The statement said that BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has called the party people as well as the nation to participate in the peaceful demonstrations.

It further said that the nation is worried about the missing of Salahuddin Ahmed despite repeated urge from the party and the victim’s family as well.

Moreover, the government will arrange a free and fair national election under a nonpartisan government to thwart the ongoing political crisis across the country, the statement added.
