FENI: An activist of Jubo League, youth wing of ruling Awami League, was shot dead over factional clash in Golar Haat area under Sadar upazila Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Saiful Islam, son of Bachhu Mia of the area.

Locals said, supporters of Anwar group attacked Saiful over past enmity and left him shot.

He was rushed to Feni Modern Hospital where he succumbed to bullet injuries.

Officer-in-Charge of Feni Model Thana Mahabub Morshed confirmed the matter to banglanews.

However, district Jubo League leader ruled out the clash over infighting. Tension was mounting in the area after the murder.
