Juba League leader shot in Lakshmipur

LAKSHMIPUR: Miscreants shot at a local leader of Juba League, youth front of Awami League, in Kashipur village of Bashikpur Union Parishad under Sadar Upazila on Saturday night.

The leader was identified as M Monir Hossain, 32, son of late Rafiqullah of the village. Monir was the president of Kashipur Ward No. 9 unit of the union Jubo League.

Sources of police and locals said that Monir was returning home from a nearby tea stall at night. As he was about to enter his house, a gang of miscreants numbering 6 to 7, lurked  near the house, fired gunshots around 8:30pm and ran away, leaving Monir injured.

Neighbors reused him and took him to hospital.
  
Making local gang “Laden-Masun Bahini” responsible for the attack, Bashikpur union JL general secretary Moshiur Rahman Nishan told banglanews that Monir has been victim of political vengeance.

Bashikpur police outpost In-Charge Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) told banglanews that police has began manhunt to nab the attackers.
