DHAKA: The Election Commission has decided to hold separate dialogues with candidates on April 11, 12 and 13 ahead of the elections in three city corporations.
Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad will also attend in the dialogue.
EC director (Public Relations) SM Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews on Sunday.
SM Asaduzzaman said that date and venues have already been fixed. The dialogue for Chittagong City Corporation Polls will be held at Muslim Institute Hall of the port city on April 11.
Besides, the dialogue for Dhaka North City Corporation is scheduled to be held at Dhaka Osmani Memorial Auditorium on April 12 while candidates for Dhaka South City Corporation will sit with the EC on April 13 at the same venue.
Some 19 mayoral candidates, 446 councilor aspirants and 113 reserved councilor aspirants were declared eligible to vie for Dhaka North while 23 mayoral candidates, 533 councilor aspirants and 122 reserved councilor aspirants for the Dhaka South.
Besides, more than 600 aspirants in three posts have been declared eligible to vie for Chittagong City Corporation.
As per election schedule, April 9 is the last date of withdrawal of candidacy. The EC will allot symbols to the candidates on April 10 while the votings to three city corporations will be held on April 28.
