DHAKA:  Police have been deployed again in front of BNP central office at Nayapaltan in the city on Wednesday morning.

Water Cannon, Armored Vehicle, Prison Van were parked at the east side of the office this morning.

Earlier on January 5, police locked the office ousting staff ahead of BNP declared programme marking January 5 as ‘Democracy Killing Day’.

Later, leaders-activists of BNP led-by assistant office secretary Asadul Karim Shaheen entered the office at 7:30pm on Saturday after three months as police force have been removed from the place on Friday.

Shaheen told banglanews that police have taken position in front of the office since morning but did not obstruct anyone to entry the office.

However, they detained 13 activists of BNP’s front organizations beside the office, he added.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) public relation department deputy police commissioner SM Jahangir Alam Sarker told banglanews that security measures have been beefed up at the strategic points in the city to keep law and order under control in prevailing political situation.

For the sake of security, police have been deployed in front of BNP office, he added.
