MAGURA: Police detained an activist of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) with a pair of cocktails, three kilograms of explosive, and other bomb making substances at Shalikha Upazila of the district Thursday night.

The detainee was identified as Shadat Hossain.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided his home in Katli village of the upazila around 8:30pm and nabbed him, recovering the cocktails and different kinds of explosive and bomb making substances.

A case was filed against him with the thana under the explosive act.

Shalikha Thana Officer-In-Charge (OC) Abu Zihad Khan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
