COMILLA: Saiful Islam, an activist of ruling Awami League’s student wing Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), died in an intra-party clash in Kandipar area in Comilla.

He, hailed from Gobindapur area of Comilla sadar, died Sunday morning while undergoing treatment at Moon Hospital in the metropolitan.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Comilla Kotwali Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Khorshed Alam said that on Saturday afternoon, two groups of BCL locked into clashes, leaving its activist Saiful Islam and class VII students Mehedi and Fayez injured.

Among them, Saiful Islam succumbed to his injuries around 9:00am.
