DHAKA: Ruling Awami League (AL)-backed mayoral contender Sayeed Khokon, in his election manifesto, promised to build a livable and modern city if he is elected in upcoming Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) election.
The mayoral aspirant made the promise while presenting the manifesto at Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) auditorium at a press conference on Sunday noon.
AL leaders Dr Abdur Razzaq, MA Aziz and Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, litterateur Syed Shamsul Huq and cultural personalities Golam Kuddus and M Hamid, among others, were present at the program.
However, the elections of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) will be held on April 28.
