DHAKA: At least 51 people including eight BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir men were arrested from Satkhira and Gaibandha districts early Sunday.

Banglanews Satkhira Correspondent said the law enforcers arrested 36 people including six BNP-Jamaat men conducting separate drives in the districts.

The drives were conducted from Saturday night to 11:00am Sunday.

District police special branch (SB) sub-inspector (SI) Emdad Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Moreover, Gaibandha Correspondent said 15 people including two Jamaat-Shibir men were arrested during the drives from Saturday night to Sunday morning.

District Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mosharaf Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
