DHAKA: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia joined the city poll campaigns on the consecutive second day on Sunday.
After coming out of her Gulshan residence, she went to city’s Uttara area around 4:30pm for seeking votes for BNP-back Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) contender Abith Awal.
Earlier on Saturday afternoon, BNP chief surprisingly joined the poll campaigns by distributing leaflets.
She, without any prior announcement, came out of her Gulshan residence to Pink City Market in Gulshan-2. She also went to Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) Market in Gulshan-1.
In both places, she, being accompanied with party leaders and activists, sought votes for Tabith.
After distributing leaflets at Navana Shopping Complex, Khaleda Zia headed to city’s Badda area and backed to the DCC Market. Later, Tabith joined her in Banani.
However, the city polls for Dhaka north and south and Chittagong will be held on April 28.
