Diplomats visit BNP’s damaged vehicle

DHAKA: Diplomats from several countries on Tuesday evening visited BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s political office in city’s Gulshan area where a damaged vehicle is kept.

The vehicle (Cha-538821), belonging to Chairperson’s Security Force (CSF), came under attack during the BNP chief’s city poll campaign Monday afternoon in Karwan Bazar.

Sources said that diplomats of Pakistan and the United Kingdom entered the BNP chief’s office minutes before 4:00pm.

Later, envoys of Japan, Australia, Canada, Qatar, Turkey, France, Saudi Arabia, Denmark, The Netherlands and other countries came to the place.

The visiting diplomats talked to the BNP leaders as BNP chairperson’s advisor Abdul Qaium, standing committee member Dr Abdul Moin Khan, international affairs secretary Gias Uddin Qader Chowdhury, executive committee members Zeba Ahmed Khan and Barrister Rumin Farhana, among others, were present there.

However, a group of miscreants attacked Khaleda Zia’s motorcade with brick chips and wooden sticks, leaving scores injured and several vehicles damaged.
