Don’t sell vote: Anisul

DHAKA: Ruling Awami League (AL)-supported mayoral candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Anisul Haque urged people not to sell their votes in the election.

The candidate came up with this assertion while campaigning at Muslim Bazar in city’s Mirpur area on Wednesday.

Urging the voters, the contender said not to sell votes under pressure and temptation. The voters should elect their preferred candidate for the mayoral post.

Welcoming the Election Commission’s (EC) decision on army deployment, Anisul said, “It is a good decision and people can apply their voting rights safely”.

About the attack on BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s motorcade, the mayoral candidate said, “We do not support it and also slam the incident. Hope that the law enforcers will take legal action against the culprits”.

He said constitutionally the incumbent government will remain in power three more years. So, people should elect the candidate who has good relation with the government.

Ilias Uddin MP and other leaders of AL local units accompanied Anisul Haque in the campaign.
