DHAKA: Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD)-backed mayoral contender Shahidul Islam extended his support to ruling Awami League-backed candidate Sayeed Khokon in the upcoming Dhaka North City Corporation Elections.

He declared his support to Khokan in a press conference arranged at National Press Club on Friday noon. Through this, Shahidul skipped from mayoral race in Dhaka South.

Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu’s JSD-supported candidate had been campaigning with ‘bus’ symbol for mayoral post of the DSCC.

On the other hand, JSD-backed candidate actor Nader Chowdhury is continuing his campaigns for mayoral race in the Dhaka North City Corporation.
