BNP to boycott city polls

DHAKA: BNP is taking preparation Tuesday to boycott ongoing Dhaka and Chittagong city corporations’ polls bringing allegations of vote rigging.

They also alleged that ruling party men are not allowing polling agents of BNP-backed candidates to enter vote centers.

Reliable source in BNP said BNP election monitoring team led by Barrister Moudud Ahmed has finalized the matter at party chairman Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan Office to boycott polls.

Earlier in the day, BNP-backed mayor candidate of Chittagong City Corporation M Monjur Alam boycotted polls raising allegations of vote rigging.
