DHAKA: Commerce Minster and also ruling Awami League (AL)’s advisory council member Tofail Ahmed said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been developing the country by fulfilling the incomplete works of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The minister made this observation at a celebration program on Sheikh Hasina’s historic homecoming on May 17 in city’s Dhanmondi area.
According to him, the decision of making Sheikh Hasina as the president of Awami League in 1981 has been proved right over the years.
The commerce minister said that Bagnabandhu brought independence for the nation but he did not get time to bring emancipation from poverty.
The nation, under the leadership of his daughter Sheikh Hasina, will get a middle-income country by 2021 on the year of the country’s 50th independence, he added.
Industries minister and also AL advisory council member Amir Hossain Amu, agriculture minister and also AL presidium member Matia Chowdhury and other leaders and activists were present at the celebration program and paid tribute to Bangabandhu by placing wreath in front of his portrait in Dhanmondi.
