NATORE: A district court on Sunday sent eight leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami, including its district unit amir Mostafizur Rahman.
Judge Nadia Sultana of Senior Judicial Court-3 passed the order at noon after denying a bail plea.
Case statement said that there was an incident of clash on April 7 in 2013 between the leasers and activists of ruling Awami League (AL) and Jamaat-e-Islami leaving four bullet-hurt and at least 25, including police and journalists, injured.
Later on April 8, Bagtipara thana unit AL secretary Sekandar Rahman Ali filed a case against 81 Jamaat leaders and activists, among them 65 got bail from the High Court.
However, Judge Nadia Sultana after Sunday’s hearing denied the bail of eight Jamaat men and sent them to jail in the afternoon.
