CHITTAGONG: Police, in overnight drives, detained 109 people including four Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Shibir men from several upazilas of the district early Saturday.

The law enforcers also recovered a LG gun and a round of kartus and 2,090 pieces of yaba

Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) in Chittagong Mohammad Naimul Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said among the arrestees, 12 men are accused in regular cases while 93 have arrest-warrants.

The law enforcers also arrested a Jamaat-e-Islami activist from Lohagara Thana along with the LG gun and a round of kartus and three Shibir men from Satkania thana.

Lohagara Thana officer-in-charge (OC) M Shahjahan told banglanews that the process of filing a case against the Shibir activist under Arms Act is underway.
