JHENAIDAH: Police on early Saturday morning drives detained 21 among a local BNP leader in Jhenaidah district.

BNP Shailakupa municipality unit vice-president Thandu Mia was nabbed from his Natun Courtpara area, in accusation of creating violence.

Besides, six people were detained from Jhenaidah sadar, three from Shailakupa and Harinakunda each, four from Kaliganj and two from Courtchandpur and Maheshpur each.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Shafiqul Islam of Jhenaidah police control room said that the detainees are accused in several cases, including of creating violence.
