DHAKA: Law enforcers arrested at least 201 people, including three activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chharta Shibir, from Chiitagong, Jessore and Jhenaidah districts on Monday.

Police in overnight special drives detained at least 111 persons, including three activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chharta Shibir from different parts of Chittagong district.

Moreover, an LG, 215 pieces of yaba tablet and 108 liters of liquor are also seized during the drives.

Chittagong additional police super (special branch) Mohammad Naimul Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

In Jessore, police arrested 55 accused in different cases in drives conducted from Sunday night to Monday morning.

Jessore district police control room informed banglanews about the matter.

Moreover, at least 35 people were arrested from different parts of Jhenaidah district on Monday.

Jhenaidah police control room on-duty official Shahinul Islam told banglanews that the arrestees are accused in different cases including of murder, violence, narcotics and torture.
