Rizvi, Dudu denied remand, bail Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Shamsuzzaman Dudu

DHAKA: A Dhaka court Thursday declined the remand plea against BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Shamsuzzaman Dudu in several cases.

The court also rejected the BNP leaders bail pleas and ordered the police to inquire them at the jail gate within three days.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Emdadul Haque passed the orders as police sought 27-day remand for Rizvi in three cases and 60-day remand for Dudu in six cases.

Metropolitan public prosecutor (PP) Abdullah Abu moved for the state while Advocate Sanaullah Mia and Advocate Zoynul Abedin stood for BNP’s accused leaders in the court.

The cases were filed against them on charge of violence, including vandalism, arson attack and blasting cocktails, they committed during the three month-long indefinite blockade and sporadic hartal since January.
